I’ve been trying to set up a Zap in Zapier to connect my Skedpal account to the shared to-do list that my boyfriend and I use, but the due date field is not working, or rather, it’s not being populated with the planned date. I’ve tried using the title (which contains the date the task is planned on) as a due date field, but this doesn’t give the correct date.2 weeks, 1 day ago SethParticipant
I couldn’t tell from your note if you’re trying to use the planned date to send to your to-do list’s due date? When SkedPal is on the source side of the zap, you can export the due date, not the planned date.
On a separate note, have you considered Asana as a collaboration tool? SkedPal has native integration with it.
Skedpal is indeed the source, and I’d like the planned date of the task to be the due date in the to-do list (Wunderlist, in this case).
I’ve looked into using Asana, but from what I’ve seen, that integration mainly works from Asana to Skedpal, and less the other way around. In our case it’s my Skedpal that would be leading, but for certain tasks (i.e. household-related tasks) I want them also present in a to-do app that can integrate with Home Assistant so my boyfriend can also pick up these tasks but I don’t have to manage two separate instances. That’s why I was looking into Zapier to provide the link between the two.2 weeks, 1 day ago SethParticipant
I see; thanks for clarifying. So, if a task in Wunderlist needs to have a due date, is there an issue to assign a due date to it in SkedPal? You see the ‘plan date’ is something unique to SkedPal. Other apps, don’t have it. That’s why you can’t use it as a ‘source’ in the zap.
It could work for singular tasks, but this is mainly for recurring tasks. From what I’ve experienced, if I set the due date for a recurring task and mark it as done, thereby creating a new occurrence, the newly created occurrence won’t have a due date.2 weeks ago SethParticipant
You’re right. The recurring tasks cannot export their plan to Wunderlist, unfortunately. We’ll take this as feedback for future consideration. Thanks for bringing this up.
