SkedPal makes your routine (also known as recurring or repeating) task scheduling more flexible. Think of going to the gym in the evenings three times a week instead of 6-7pm on Mon, Wed, Fri.
The following examples show you how to setup different types of repeating tasks in SkedPal.
Clearing Inbox everyday:
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task.
- Select Daily
- If you don’t want to check your Inbox during the weekends, select ‘Repeat on every selected day’, and un-check Saturday and Sunday
- Set the best times for this activity by adding one or more Time Maps.
- Define what happens if you miss a day, or SkedPal can’t schedule an occurrence in future. Would you like to be warned through the hot list?
- Save and UPDATE SCHEDULE!
Watering the plants every 3 days
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task
- Select Periodically.
- Set the task to repeat 3 days after completion
- Set the best times for this activity by adding one or more Time Maps.
- Define what happens if you miss a day, or SkedPal can’t schedule an occurrence in future. Would you like to be warned through the hot list?
- Save and UPDATE SCHEDULE!
Calling John on Fridays every other week
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task
- Select Weekly.
- Set the task to repeat every 2 weeks.
- Select ‘Once a week on any selected days
- Un-check all days except Friday.
- Set the best times for this activity by adding one or more Time Maps. Make sure you select some hours on Friday.
- Define what happens if you miss a day, or SkedPal can’t schedule an occurrence in future. Would you like to be warned through the hot list?
- Save and UPDATE SCHEDULE!
- Note that weekly tasks will show an abbreviation of w/o – which stands for week of.
Going to the gym in the evenings three times a week
- In the RIGHT BOX, set the duration for the total time you want to spend in the gym during the week (e.g. 3 hours)
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task
- Select Weekly.
- Set the task to repeat every 1 week.
- Select 3 times a week on any selected days
- Un-check any day(s) that you don’t want to exercise (e.g. Saturday).
- Select the best times to schedule the gym.
- Define what happens if you missed a full week (a single occurrence), or SkedPal can’t schedule an occurrence in future. Would you like to be warned through the hot list?
- Save and UPDATE SCHEDULE!
Reading for 4 hours over the weekends
- In the RIGHT BOX, set the duration for the total time you want to read over the weekends (e.g. 4 hours)
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task
- Select Weekly.
- Set the task to repeat every 1 weeks.
- Select ‘Once a week on any selected days
- Use the left or right arrow keys next to the week days to rotate the weekdays. You want Saturday and Sunday to be adjacent.
- Un-check all days except Saturday and Sunday
- Set the best times for this activity by adding one or more Time Maps. Make sure you select some hours on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Define what happens if you missed a weekend (a single occurrence), or SkedPal can’t schedule an occurrence in future. Would you like to be warned through the hot list?
- Save and UPDATE SCHEDULE!
Paying the bills between 1st to 3rd day of every month
- In the RIGHT BOX, click on ‘Does not repeat’
- Set the date range for the repeating task
- Select Monthly.
- Set the task to repeat every 1 month.
- Select between day 1 and day 3.
- Set the best times for this activity by adding one or more Time Maps. Make sure you select some hours on both Saturday and Sunday.
